Transformed for Life Early Education and Primary School
Unicef estimates that 40% of girls in Uganda are married before they are 18. This number is even higher in impoverished, rural areas such as ours. Without an education, girls get married for protection and security and teenage boys often leave home in search of a “better life” that they rarely find. In our district, only 5% of adults have finished high school and the majority of the children in our women’s program are not attending school. There is a dire need for schools in our area.
After much thought and research, We feel led to begin an early education and primary school that will meet the specific needs of vulnerable children. Our school will focus on accelerated education programs to help children catch up on missed education, vocational training to prepare children for the future, discipleship, counselling and character development. Our goal is to provide a safe and loving environment for at-risk children of Uganda to become educated and skilled women and men who will positively impact their culture.
